Thirteen Walks: The First

About a month ago my husband and I were talking and we thought (okay, *I* thought and he agreed) it would be fun to go for walks in various areas of the city over the summer. We already go for a fair number of walks but those are mostly around our house. Our city has stepped up in recent years in the number of greenspaces and walk/bikeways. And so, we are off to enjoy them. A walk per week for the next 13 weeks. We'll drive to different areas of the city* and enjoy some time together in areas that are new to us.

First stop, Henteleff Park, not too far from our place.
Next week's goal: Perhaps a PAVED area. Too many rocks for this little boy.
Rocks AND a river? A match made in heaven for our boy. Don't worry, no animals were hurt in the process.

Many rounds of "What Am I?" were played. Apparently J-L thinks a lot about maraschino cherries.

ccap: Well, a lot less chance of passing germs with that type of hand-holding.
J-L: Yeah, but more risk of dutch elm disease.

* A couple of them might be in other cities or towns.

That's absolutely how I'm going to start holding hands with Don.

Hey, you could market that idea. A simple baton for aunties who hate sticky hands to carry in their purse with them! Sign me up.

Also, love the walk a week idea. You'll have to invite us to join you for a picnic and a walk sometime in the next twelve weeks : )

Yeah, I was totally thinking I'd like to mix it up some weeks and invite friends along... especially favourite friends. We'll keep you posted.
