letter to dad

Abby came home with a letter she'd written to her dad. You're lucky enough to get a peek. (The part about hockey is soooo not true.) (Click on it to be able to read it.)

Photo

As many of you know, I have gotten myself fully immersed in two different photo projects. Well (sheepish confession ahead), actually, it's now three and that's not even counting the on-hold-for-now stranger project. Yes, slightly obsessive, you're right.

The most recent project is a photograph a day for a year. (I'm only at day 25 so we'll have to wait and see how this one turns out.) Anyway, many conversations in our home now revolve around photography and ideas for photos etc.

Here's Abby's latest list for what I need for a photo idea of hers:

A polka-dot jacket.
Two frisbees. One needs to be green and one needs to be yellow.
A hockey stick. It needs to be taller than you, Mom and it needs to be black with the part that hits the puck being green.
We put it all on the grass.
And, the background needs to be a baseball field.

I honestly have no idea where she's going with the shot but if anyone has any of the accoutrements to lend me I'd be most curious to see where it's headed.

hippie

Dress in a different decade for daycare.

T-shirt and jeans from Value Village. A couple of peace symbols. Some fabric paint. Voila.

Attitude: all hers.

on living with a boy

The scene takes place last night. Jack has just finished using the toilet and is pulling up his pants.

I flush the toilet.

Jack bursts into tears: "No! Daddy was coming to see it!"

Sigh.

I don't know if I'm cut out for this.
